CHRISTMAS DECORATING

Christmas is a fantastic time of year to express original thinking and create something unique and dazzling for the entire family and guests to admire and enjoy. Every year I come up with a new theme for my son’s tree and prefer to make my own unique ornaments. I also love building giant nutcrackers to put on display. and gift wrapping is never a chore for me — I love it.

ALL THAT GLITTERS Christmas tree

The main tree in our house is always an ornate and overflowing burst of beautiful metallic decor. gold and silver twigs spout out from any available spot. and for that extra sparkle, I bought several boxes of traditional ball ornaments and spruced them up with faux gems and fabric lace cut-outs.

Wild West Christmas tree

leather wrapped balls, ones glued in western-style fabric, wagon wheels, spray painted hats and horses, lasso as ribbons, miniature old fashion lanterns, stamped slices of wood, hanging horseshoes, snake oil medicine jars with labels I designed, custom-made miniature dioramas of Wild West scenes, and more were the perfect ornaments for this Wild West theme.

Harry Potter christmas tree

handmade snitches, red potion ornaments, spray painted stags representing Patronus, along with floating candles catch the eye of those in the know. in addition, I created tiny ornaments that has small owls perched on top of traveling luggage chests — which I scaled up to size to sit at the bottom of the tree. Hedwig was definitely my son’s favorite part of this magical tree.

combat christmas tree

scenes from famous battles incorporated tiny soldiers and landscape for more diorama fun. toy helicopters, tanks, and fighter jets double as ornaments. and for filler, anything red, white, and blue — as well as a grenade or two. stick a flag in it — done!
